Priscilla Lopez to Replace Rondi Reed in Encores! Fanny

Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez has joined the cast of the Encores! production of Fanny, replacing Rondi Reed who was withdrawn due to illness. Directed by Marc Bruni, choreographed by Lorin Latarro, and featuring musical direction by Rob Berman, Fanny will run February 4-7 at New York City Center.

Lopez is currently appearing on Broadway in In the Heights. She won a Tony for her performance in A Day in Hollywood / A Night in the Ukraine. Her other Broadway credits include Anna in the Tropics, The Sisters Rosensweig, and Nine, as well as the original production of A Chorus Line. Off-Broadway, she was seen in The Passion of Frida Kahlo, Other People’s Money, Extremities and Key Exchange. Her film credits include Maid in Manhattan, Center Stage, Revenge of the Nerds II, and Cheaper to Keep Her.

Fanny features a score by Harold Rome and a book by S.N. Behrman and Joshua Logan, based on Marcel Pagnol’s novels, which focus on a young girl who falls in love with a sailor. The company, as previously announced, also features Elena Shaddow (Fanny), George Hearn (Cesar), James Snyder (Marius), Fred Applegate (Panisse), David Patrick Kelly (The Admiral), and Michael McCormick (Escartifique).

The creative team will include John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Ken Billington (lighting design), Martin Pakledinaz (costume design), and Scott Lehrer (sound design).
