Stage and screen star Michael Sheen greeted fellow actor Wes Bentley at the opening night of Classic Stage Company‘s Venus in Fur on Tuesday, January 26. The two appeared together in the 2002 film, The Four Feathers.

Written by David Ives, Venus in Fur is inspired by the infamous erotic novel of the same name and takes theatergoers behind the scenes of an audition, where a man and a woman blur the lines between fantasy and reality, seduction and power, love and sex. Bentley co-stars in the two-hander with Nina Arianda. Walter Bobbie has directed the production.

Sheen has starred as David Frost in the London, Broadway, and film versions of Frost/Nixon and also played Mozart in the Broadway revival of Amadeus. His other film appearances include The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Queen, Blood Diamond, and Kingdom of Heaven.

Bentley’s numerous film credits include American Beauty, The Claim, P2, The Last Word and the thriller Dolan’s Cadillac, based on the novel by Stephen King.
