Morgan Spector will permanently assume the role of Rodolpho in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge, currently in previews at the Cort Theatre with an opening set for January 24. He replaces Santino Fontana, who as previously reported sustained an onstage injury last week.

Spector, who was Fontana’s understudy, began playing the role last Thursday, January 7. In a press statement, Fontana said, “It comes with a great deal of sadness that I make the decision to not return to this production. Knowing that I would not be fully recovered and able to return until after opening, I’ve chosen to withdraw with great respect to my fellow actors and to my own health.”

Gregory Mosher directs the production, which stars Tony Award winner Liev Schreiber plays Eddie Carbone, Scarlett Johansson plays Catherine, Michael Cristofer plays Alfieri, Jessica Hecht plays Beatrice, and Corey Stolll plays Marco. The cast also features Alex Cendese, Anthony DeSando, Antoinette LaVecchia, Mark Morettini, Joe Ricci, Robert Turano, and Marco Verna.
