Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams To Join Broadway’s Chicago February 8

Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams will join the Broadway cast of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre, playing Roxie Hart. The Grammy Award-winning singer will play the role from February 8 – March 28, taking over from Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.

Williams first played the role last year in the London company of the John Kander and Fred Ebb musical. Her other stage credits include the title role in Aida on Broadway and the national tour of The Color Purple.

Chicago has been directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking. The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), and Scott Lehrer (sound design).
