Bobby Steggert will star as Stu in the York Theatre Company’s production of the musical Yank!, which will play the The Theatre at St. Peter’s, February 16-March 21, with an opening on February 24. Igor Goldin will direct. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

Featuring a book and lyrics by David Zellnik and music by his brother Joe Zellnik, the musical is set during World War II, and chronicles the romantic relationship between two servicemen long before don’t-ask-don’t-tell was part of the national discussion. The musical has received a GLAAD Media Award nomination, a NYMF Audience Award for Best Musical, and the New York Innovative Theater Award for Outstanding Musical Production.

The production will feature music direction by John Baxindine, choreography by Jeffry Denman, and set design by Ray Klausen.

Steggert previously played his role in the Gallery Players’ production of the show in 2007. He is currently appearing on Broadway as Mother’s Younger Brother in Ragtime, and additional New York credits include 110 in the Shade, The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island, and Camelot.
