Audra McDonald, James Taylor, Kiri Te Kanawa, et al. Set for Carnegie Hall Season

Four-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald will be featured in one of Carnegie Hall‘s 120th Anniversary Gala Concerts, to be held on May 5, 2011. She will join the New York Philharmonic with musical director Alan Gilbert with a program of songs by Duke Ellington. Also featured at the event will be a performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, featuring pianist Emanuel Ax, violinist Gil Shaham, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma.

Also on the schedule for Carnegie Hall’s 2010-2011 season are a four-concert residency for James Taylor, who will be featured in another gala event celebrating the facility’s anniversary to be held in April 2011.

Among the many noteworthy artists who will appear at Carnegie Hall this season are Angelique Kidjo, Andre Previn, Joshua Redman, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, and Christian Tetzlaff.

As previously announced, New York Pops concerts at Carnegie Hall will feature performers such as Ashley Brown, Heather Headley, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Karen Olivo.
