59E59 Theater Announces Additional 2010 Programming

59E59 Theaters has announced additional winter/spring 2010 programming.

As previously reported, the year begins with Shawn Nacol’s Rough Sketch (January 14-31), directed by Ian Morgan With Tina Benko and Matthew Lawler; The Man in Room 306 (January 15-February 14), written and performed by Craig Alan Edwards; and Dog and Wolf (February 5-21), written by Catherine Filloux, directed by Jean Randich, and featuring Nadia Bowers, John Daggett and Dale Soules.

Newly announced is Conviction (February 16-March 21), by Oren Neeman, adapted by Ami Dayan and Mark Williams, directed by Jeremy Cole, and featuring Ami Dayan, Kevin Hart and Catharine Pilafas. Based on a true story of the Spanish-Inquisition, the play is about a Catholic priest in love with a Jewish woman. Sam Marks’ Brack’s Last Bachelor Party (February 25-March 14) features the three men from Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler battling it out at a bachelor party. Geordie Broadwater will direct.

Godlight Theatre Company will present John Ball’s In the Heat of the Night (March 19-April 25), adapted by Matt Pelfrey, directed by Joe Tantalo, and featuring Ashton Crosby, Bryce Hodges, Lawrence Jansen, Gregory Konow, Julianne Nelson, Ryan O’Callaghan, Nick Paglino, Sean Phillips, Michael Shimkin, and Sam Whitten. Set in 1962 Alabama, the action is set in motion when a dead white man is discovered and the local police arrest a black stranger. The Play Company will present Toshiki Okada’s Enjoy (March 27-April 25), translated by Aya Ogawa, and directed by Dan Rothenberg. This slacker comedy of manners follows the romantic adventures of part-time workers in a Tokyo manga café.

59E59 will also host the second annual Americas Off Broadway festival, April-July 3, with complete programming still to be announced.
