Viola Davis Joins Law Abiding Citizen Film Cast

Tony Award winner Viola Davis has joined the cast of the psychological thriller Law Abiding Citizen, according to Variety. The film, which began shooting earlier this month in Philadelphia, stars Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, and is directed by F. Gary Gray.
According to the trade publication, the plot concerns a man whose wife and daughter were brutally murdered ten years ago, who returns to exact justice from the assistant D.A. who prosecuted the case. The cast will also include Leslie Bibb, Regina Hall, Bruce McGill, and Colm Meaney.
Davis won Tony and Drama Desk Awards for her performance in King Hedley II, received a Drama Desk Award for Intimate Apparel, and was Tony-nominated for Seven Guitars. She is currently appearing on the big screen in the film version of Doubt, for which she has received an Academy Award nomination.
