Ugly Betty star Mark Indelicato will read from Susanna Reich’s book, José! Born to Dance at the Barnes & Noble in Greenwich Village, Saturday, January 24 at 2pm.

The event is part of “Making Books Sing Day,” and will also include a sneak peek of Making Books Sing’s new musical, José Limon: The Making of an Artist, with the show’s star, Diego Rodriguez. Although both works are about Limon, the musical is not based on Reich’s book, and is instead inspired by an unpublished memoir by the famed dancer and choreographer.

The musical, featuring book and lyrics by Barbara Zinn Krieger and music by Charles Greenberg, will begin performances at Lehman College in the Bronx on January 23, and will tour to Symphony Space in Manhattan, the Goldstein Theatre at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, and Stanford Lively Arts in Stanford, CA. Brad Malow directs, with choreography by Eric Jackson Bradley. The cast will also feature Talia Barzilay, Henry Gainza, Matt Leddy, and Angela Stellute. The design team consists of Jack Mehler (set), Douglas Cox (lighting), Bill Grady (sound), and Tracy Christensen (costumes).
