reasons to be pretty to Hold Open Casting Call for Broadway Advertising Campaign

The producers of the Broadway production of Neil LaBute’s reasons to be pretty have announced that they will hold an open casting call for its advertising campaign, to be held January 8, 1-5 pm at the casting offices of Telsey & Co. (311 West 43rd Street, 10th Floor).

The producers are not looking for professional models, and are instead seeking “real people with real bodies (all shapes and sizes).” Those auditioning should be willing to show their body and tell a short story centering on the body part that they are insecure about. Photographer Howard Schatz, known for his unique and artful work with bodies, will shoot the advertising campaign.

Directed by Terry Kinney, Neil LaBute’s new play confronts America’s obsession with physical beauty headlong. The four-character work concerns Greg, whose life is thrown into turmoil when he makes an offhand remark about his girlfriend’s face. Previews will begin at the Lyceum Theatre March 13, with an opening set for April 2.
