Natalie Venetia Belcon will head the cast of Baltimore’s CENTERSTAGE production of Lynn Nottage’s play Fabulation, or The Re-Education of Undine, to run January 28-March 8. The production, which will open officially on February 4, will be directed by Jackson Gay.

The work focuses on Undine Barnes Calles, a savvy public relations executive who suddenly finds herself pregnant, divorced, and broke — and forced to reconnect with her family in the inner city. Nottage’s other plays include Intimate Apparel and Crumbs from the Table of Joy.

The cast will also feature Preston Bates, Crystal A. Dickinson, Richard Gallagher, Frank Harts, Lizan Mitchell, Robert Montano, and Maria-Christina Oliveras.

Belcon originated the role of Gary Coleman in the Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of Avenue Q; her other stage credits include The Glorious Ones, Rent, and Being Alive.
