Mira Sorvino and her father, Paul Sorvino, will portray Stella Adler and Constantine Stanislavsky in a reading of Jane Wood and Tara Prem’s new play, Stella in the Bois de Boulogne at the Center for Jewish History, on January 26 at 7 pm. Donald T. Sanders will direct.

The work brings to life the historic conflict between Adler, of the influential Jewish-American Adler acting dynasty, and the controversial artistic director Lee Strasberg, and Adler’s subsequent meetings in Paris with Stanislavsky in 1934.

There will be an additional reading of the play on February 2, with the roles of Adler and Stanislavsky played by Elizabeth Zins and Robert Ian Mackenzie.
