Leslie Kritzer and Doug Kreeger to Star in ROOMS at New World Stages

Leslie Kritzer and Doug Kreeger will star in the musical ROOMS a rock romance, which will begin performances on Friday, February 27 at New World Stages. The production, which will open officially on March 16, will be directed by Scott Schwartz and feature choreography by Matt Williams.

The show, which has music and lyrics by Paul Scott Goodman and a book by Goodman and Miriam Gordon, begins in 1970s Glasgow where Monica, an ambitious singer/songwriter meets Ian, a reclusive rocker. The two quickly become entangled creatively and romantically, but as they gain professional success, their personalities drive them apart. Goodman is best known for writing the score to Bright Lights, Big City.

The production will feature scenic design by Adam Koch, costume design by Alejo Vietti, lighting design by Herrick Goldman, sound design by Jonathan Weston, and musical supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Jesse Vargas, Schwartz’s directorial credits include Golda’s Balcony, Bat Boy: The Musical, and tick, tick… BOOM!

Kritzer’s Broadway credits include A Catered Affair, Legally Blonde, and Hairspray. Kreeger, who starred in the world premiere production of ROOMS last year, has appeared on stage in The Visit, Les Miserables. Grease, Hair, and Thrill Me: The Leopold And Loeb Story.
