CSC’s Young Company to Present Romeo & Juliet

The Young Company, Classic Stage Company’s troupe of student actors, will present a 90-minute abridged version of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, February 23-March 6. Tony Speciale will direct.

The production is specially tailored for young audiences, and is set in a Verona where surveillance cameras capture your every move and even your most exquisitely private moments become public domain. It features Columbia M.F.A. student actors who will also function as teaching artists in a series of workshops on Shakespeare in NYC public schools throughout the five boroughs, culminating in the students’ attendance at special matinee performances of Romeo & Juliet.

CSC is currently presenting Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Denis O’Hare and Peter Sarsgaard.
