Adam, with Hugh Dancy, Wins Sundance’s Alfred P. Sloan Prize

Max Mayer’s film Adam, starring Hugh Dancy as a man with autism, has won the Sundance Film Festival’s annual Alfred P. Sloan Prize, a $20,000 award for a film focusing on science or technology as a theme.
The film, which is scheduled for theatrical release later this year, also stars Rose Byrne, Peter Gallagher, Amy Irving, Frankie Faison, Mark-Linn Baker, Haviland Morris, and John Rothman.
Dancy appeared on Broadway in David Grindley’s production of Journey’s End. His many other films include Black Hawk Down, Ella Enchanted, Evening, and The Jane Austen Book Club. Next month, his film Confessions of a Shopaholic will be released. He also received an Emmy Award nomination for his work in the HBO miniseries Elizabeth I.
Mayer previously directed episodes of the TV series Family Law, The West Wing, and Alias.
