Tony Award Winner Trezana Beverley to Star in Medea

Tony Award winner Trezana Beverley will star in Take Wing and Soar’s production of Euripides’ Medea, to run February 15-March 2 at the National Black Theatre. The show, which will be presented in a new translation by Nicholas Rudall, will be directed by Petronia Paley.

The cast will also feature Ian Stuart, Renauld White, Dathan B. Williams, Sharita Hunt, Natasha Yannacanedo, Beverley Prentice, Marishka Phillips, Mary E. Hodges, Ma’at Zachary, Bryan Webster, David Heron, and David D. Wright.

Beverley received the Tony for her work in For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf. She has worked extensively Off-Broadway and in regional theater as an actress and director, including recent productions of Salome, Yellowman, and String of Pearls.

Paley is also a well-known actress, who recently starred in On the Way to Timbuktu. Her other acting credits include Electra, Hamlet, On Golden Pond, The Cherry Orchard, and the daytime dramas Another World and Guiding Light.
