Glimmerglass Opera will present Shakespeare on Love, a program of poetry and music previewing the company’s 2008 summer season, at New York City’s Morgan Library at 7:30pm on Thursday, January 31. Performers for the evening include sopranos Mara Bonde, Caitlin Lynch, and Brenda Rae. Eric Schnobrick will accompany them on piano, with arrangements by John Conklin.

The Cooperstown-based company’s 2008 season, to run July 5-August 24, will feature four productions with links to Shakespeare: Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto, Porter’s Kiss Me Kate, and Wagner’s Das Liebesverbot. In addition, the company will present two concert performances of Felix Mendelssohn’s complete incidental music to A Midsummer’s Night Dream.

Tickets to the January 31 concert are $35-$45, and include a post-performance reception with the artists. For more information on the concert, call 212-685-0008, ext. 560.
