Full Casting Announced for Broadway’s In the Heights

Full casting has been announced for the award-winning musical In the Heights, which begin previews at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on February 14, with an official opening on March 9. As with the Off-Broadway production, the show will once again be directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler.

The principal cast is comprised of Andréa Burns, Janet Dacal, Robin De Jesús, Carlos Gomez, Mandy Gonzalez, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Olga Merediz, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Karen Olivo and Seth Stewart. Additional cast members include Tony Chiroldes, Rosie Lani Fiedelman, Joshua Henry, Afra Hines, Nina Lafarga, Doreen Montalvo, Javier Muñoz, Krysta Rodriguez, Eliseo Roman, Luis Salgado, Shaun Taylor-Corbett, Rickey Tripp, Michael Balderrama, Blanca Camacho, Rogelio Douglas Jr., and Stephanie Klemons.

Featuring music and lyrics by Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, In the Heights is about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan, and focuses on the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition.

The Broadway production will feature scenic design by Anna Louizos, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Howell Binkley, sound by Acme Sound Partners, music direction by Alex Lacamoire, and music arrangements by Lacamoire and Bill Sherman.

The Off-Broadway production received numerous accolades, including Outer Critics and Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Musical and Choreography, Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Choreography and Ensemble Performance, Obie Awards for Outstanding Music and Lyrics, and Clarence Derwent and Theatre World Awards for Miranda.
