Day, McGrath, Soule, Turner Set for Yale Rep’s The Evildoers

Johanna Day, Matt McGrath, Samantha Soule, and Stephen Barker Turner will star in Yale Repertory Theatre’s world premiere production of David Adjmi’s The Evildoers, to run January 18-February 9. The production, which will open officially on January 24, will be directed by Rebecca Bayla Taichman.

The play concerns two couples whose relationship shatters during the course of an anniversary dinner. Adjmi’s previous plays include Marie Antoinette, Caligula, and Strange Attractors.

The creative team includes Riccardo Hernandez (sets), Susan Hilferty (costumes), Stephen Strawbridge (lighting), and Bray Poor (sound). Taichman’s directorial credits include The Scene, Menopausal Gentleman, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, The Velvet Sky, and Mauritius.

Day received a Tony Award nomination for Proof and most recently starred in the Second Stage production of Peter and Jerry. McGrath starred on Broadway in Cabaret and A Streetcar Named Desire. Soule starred on Broadway in Coram Boy and Dinner at Eight. Turner’s stage credits include All My Sons, After Ashley, and Hedda Gabler.
