Davis, Robins to Appear at Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey

Daniel Davis and Laila Robins will be part of the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s 2008 season.

Davis will take on the title role in King Lear, to run July 2-27. His Broadway credits include La Cage Aux Folles, The Frogs, and Wrong Mountain, for which he received a Tony Award nomination, and he is best known for his role as Niles on the hit TV sitcom The Nanny. Robins will play Blanche DuBois in Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, September 10-October 5. Robins’ Broadway credits include Heartbreak House, Frozen, and The Herbal Bed.

The season’s Main Stage offerings also include The Comedy of Errors (April 30-May 18), Amadeus. (May 28-June 22), Private Lives (August 6-31), and Romeo and Juliet (October 15-November 16). In addition, the company will present The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged) on its outdoor stage at the College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, June 18-July 20.
