Bakula, Davi, Leavel, Page, et al. Set for Dancing in the Dark

Full casting has been announced for the Old Globe’s world premiere musical Dancing in the Dark, to run March 4-April 13. The show, which is adapted from the MGM musical The Band Wagon, features a book by Douglas Carter Beane, adapted from the screenplay by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and a score by Howard Dietz and Arthur Schwartz. The production will be directed by Gary Griffin.

The cast will feature Scott Bakula (Tony Hunter), Mara Davi (Gabrielle), Adam Heller (Lester), Benjamin Howes (Hal), Sebastian LaCause (Paul), Beth Leavel (Lily), and Patrick Page (Jeffrey Cordova). The ensemble will feature Clyde Alves, Rachel Coloff, Dylis Croman, Nicolas Dromard, Cara Kjellman, Adam Perry, Eric Santagata, Kiira Schmidt, Jacob Ben Widmar, Branch Woodman, and Ashley Yeater.

The story focuses on a Hollywood star with a career on the wane who teams with a Shakespearean actor-manager with a taste for high art and diverse assortment of theatrical personalities to create a new musical that’s strictly “entertainment.”
