Composer-lyricist Michael John LaChiusa will participate in a number of special events in conjunction with Boston-based Lyric Stage’s production of his musical See What I Wanna See, which runs through February 3. The musical is based on three short stories by the Japanese writer Ryonosuke Akutgawa, one of which also provided the basis for the film Rashomon.

LaChiusa will participate in a post-show talkback on Thursday, January 18, a pre-show discussion and autograph signing on Saturday, January 20, and a private pre-show dinner with music and conversation on Friday, January 19 at Laurel Grill and Bar. The latter event costs $75, while the other events are free. On the morning of January 19, LaChiusa will speak to students at Emerson College. His other scores include The Wild Party, First Lady Suite, and Hello, Again.
