Dixon, Rauch, Rebhorn, et al. Join Roundabout’s Prelude to a Kiss

Full casting has been announced for the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Craig Lucas’ 1990 play Prelude to a Kiss, which will run at the American Airlines Theatre, February 16-April 22. The production, to be directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, will open officially on March 8.

Joining previously announced stars John Mahoney as the Old Man, Annie Parisse as Rita, Alan Tudyk as Peter, and Robin Bartlett as Mrs. Boyle will be James Rebhorn as Dr. Boyle. Rebhorn’s previous Broadway credits include the Roundabout’s productions of Twelve Angry Men and The Man Who Had All the Luck, as well as Dinner at Eight and Our Town.

The cast will also feature Francois Battiste (Tom), Brandon Dirden (Ensemble), MacIntyre Dixon (Minister), Marceline Hugot (Aunt Dorothy, Leah), Matthew Rauch (Taylor), John Rothman (Uncle Fred), and Karen Walsh (Ensemble).

The play concerns a pair of happy young newlyweds, Peter and Rita. After a mysterious elderly man appears and kisses the bride at their wedding, the couple is sent on a magical journey and their relationship is put to the test.

The design team for Prelude to a Kiss includes Santo Loquasto (sets), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Donald Holder (lighting), and John Gromada (sound and original compositions).
