Dinklage, Marvel, Stuhlbarg, Wiest, et al. Set for CSC’s First Look Festival

Bill Camp, Kathleen Chalfant, Peter Dinklage, Jessica Hecht, John Mahoney, Elizabeth Marvel, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Dianne Wiest will participate in Classic Stage Company’s annual First Look Festival, which will feature staged readings of four plays by Anton Chekhov. The series will run on Mondays January 22-February 12.

The festival will begin on January 22 with Chalfant starring in The Cherry Orchard, directed by Diane Paulus. Next up, on January 29, is The Seagull, directed by Austin Pendleton and starring Wiest, Mahoney, Hecht, Camp, and Stuhlbarg. That reading will be followed by Dinklage in Erica Schmidt’s production of Uncle Vanya on February 5 and Marvel in The Three Sisters on February 12. Additional casting and directors will be announced at a later date.

CSC’s next mainstage production will be Yazmina Reza’s A Spanish Play, translated by David Ives, directed by John Turturro, and starring Zoe Caldwell, Denis O’Hare, Linda Emond, Larry Pine, and Katharine Borowitz. It will run January 10-March 4, with an official opening on February 1.
