Curtains Recieves Edgar Award Nomination

The upcoming Broadway musical Curtains, with a book by Rupert Holmes, Steven Dietz’s Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, and Michael Kimball’s Ghosts of Ocean House have received nominations for this year’s Edgar Award for Best Play from the Mystery Writers of America. The awards will be given out at Grand Hyatt in New York City on April 26.

Patrick Marber, whose play Howard Katz opens next month at the Roundabout, received a Best Motion Picture Screenplay nomination for Notes on a Scandal. (He also received an Oscar nomination this morning.) His competition includes the screenplays for Casino Royale, Children of Men, The Departed, and The Good Shepherd.

Playwrights Kia Corthron and Eric Overmeyer are among the writers nominated for Best Television Feature/Mini-Series Teleplay for HBO’s The Wire. Their competition includes the teleplays for four BBC programs, Conviction, Cracker: A New Terror, Messiah: The Harrowing, and Secret Smile.
