Browne, James, Pine, et. al to Appear in Conversations at Midnight

Roscoe Lee Browne, Peter Francis James, Quentin Mare, Ken Marks, Larry Pine, and Michael Stuhlbarg will appear in a staged reading of Edna St. Vincent Millay’s rarely produced dramatic poem Conversations at Midnight at 8pm on Monday, January 22 at the 92nd Street Y Poets’ Theatre. Paul Hecht will direct the reading and be part of the cast.

Originally published in 1936, Conversations at Midnight is a multi-character conversational poem that imagines the after-dinner discussion of seven men from diverse backgrounds on a number of topics including politics, shooting, horse racing, poetry, love, and war.

Browne was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in Two Trains Running. Hecht received a Tony nomination for his Broadway debut in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. James appeared last season in Stuff Happens; his Broadway credits include On Golden Pond and Drowning Crow. Mare has been seen on Broadway in Julius Caesar and King Lear. Marks’ Broadway credits include After the Fall and Mamma Mia!. Pine has appeared on Broadway in Bus Stop, Angels in America, and Cyrano de Bergerac. Stuhlbarg is currently starring in The Voysey Inheritance and received a Tony nomination and a Drama Desk Award for his performance in The Pillowman.
