Klea Blackhurst, Heidi Blickenstaff, Jonathan Brody, Ann Harada, Jillian Louis, Randy Redd, and Devin Richards will star in a free reading of the musical Gay Grimms at 7:30pm on Thursday, January 11 at the York Theatre (Lexington Avenue at 54th Street).

The musical features a book by Ted Sod, who will also direct the reading, with music by Dan Martin, and lyrics by Michael Biello. The story focues on Jackie and Leon, the Cousins Grimm, who are adapting their ancestors’ beloved stories and adding a queer sensibility to them. As they do so, strange and magical things begin to happen as their versions of their tales come to life.

Sod is the author of the screenplay Crocodile Tears, based on his play Satan and Simon DeSoto. Martin and Biello co-wrote the musical Breathe, which played at Chicago’s Baliwick Theatre.
