The Broadway revival of Herman Wouk’s classic 1954 play The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, starring David Schwimmer and Zeljko Ivanek, will play the Lyceum Theater. Directed by Jerry Zaks, the show will begin performances on April 14 and is set to open officially on May 7.

The cast will also include Broadway veterans Terry Beaver (Captain Blakely), Murphy Guyer (Captain Southard), Brian Reddy (Dr. Forrest Lundeen), and Ben Fox (Lieutenant Willis Keith). The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (set design), Wiliam Ivey Long (costume design), Paul Gallo (lighting design), and Dan Moses Schreier (sound design).

Adapted by Wouk from his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, the play concerns Barney Greenwald, an attorney defending a Navy lieutenant who has been brought up on charges of mutiny by his power-hungry commander, Captain Philip Queeg.

Schwimmer, who will make his Broadway debut in the role of Greenwald, is best known for his portrayal of Ross on the long-running TV sitcom Friends. Ivanek, who will play Queeg, is a two-time Tony Award nominee for his work in Two Shakespearean Actors and Brighton Beach Memoirs.
