Morton, Seldes, Sternhagen, Thomas Set for February Edition of Selected Shorts

Joe Morton, Marian Seldes, Frances Sternhagen, and Richard Thomas are among those set to participate in the February edition of Selected Shorts: A Celebration of the Short Story at Symphony Space (Broadway and 95th Street). The long-running series is hosted by Isaiah Sheffer.

Morton, Sternhagen, and Thomas will be featured in a program called “BANNED: Stories by Censored Writers and Dissidents,” at 6:30pm on Wednesday, February 8. This collaboration with the Asian American Writers’ Workshop and PEN American Center will include moving and provocative tales from Iran and Indonesia.

On Wednesday, February 22 at 8pm, Seldes will join author Malachy McCourt and guest curator/host Jonathan Lethem, author of the novels The Fortress of Solitude and Motherless Brooklyn. They will read a number of fantastic tales about humans and animals by James Thurber, Italo Calvino, and Jorge Luis Borges.
