Tony Award winner Lillias White will join the cast of Chicago as Matron “Mama” Morton, January 30-April 23. She’ll replace fellow Tony winner Debra Monk, who joined the long-running show in September.

White won the Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for The Life. Her other Broadway credits include Once on This Island, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Barnum. She has also appeared at such clubs as Joe’s Pub and Feinstein’s at the Regency, performed in The Actors’ Fund benefit concerts of Dreamgirls and Hair, and is slated to appear in a salute to the late composer Cy Coleman on February 7 as part of Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series.

Her Chicago castmates will include TV stars Robin Givens as Roxie Hart and John O’Hurley as Billy Flynn, and Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, all of whom will join the show on January 16.
