Brooks Ashmanksas, Andrea Burns, Gavin Creel, Jessica Molaskey, and Billy Porter will star in It’s Only Life: The Songs of John Bucchino, part of Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series, which will be presented on Friday, January 27 at 8:30pm and 10:30pm at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Allen Room. The show, which will be directed by Daisy Prince, was previously seen as part of the 2004 Summer Play Festival.

Bucchino is the composer of such popular songs as “Sweet Dreams” and “Grateful.” He also wrote the one-act musical Lavender Girl and is currently working with Harvey Fierstein on the new musical A Catered Affair. Bucchino recently received the inaugural Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theater songwriters, which includes a $50,000 cash prize; he was chosen from 391 applicants from around the world.

Ashmaskas, Burns, Molaskey, and Porter, all Broadway veterans, previously appeared together in the Off-Broadway production of Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World. Creel is a Tony Award nominee for his performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie and was seen as Jean-Michel in last season’s Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles.
