Under the Bridge, a new musical with book and lyrics by Kathie Lee Gifford and music by David Pomeranz, based on the popular children’s book by Natalie Savage Carlson, opened last night at the Zipper Theatre with a number of celebrities in attendance. Here, Kathie Lee shares an intimate moment with Donald Trump.
And here’s Kathie Lee with her family: husband Frank Gifford and their children, Cassidy and Cody.
Also on hand for the opening: author Barbara Taylor Bradford…
…songwriter-playwright-librettist Rupert Holmes, whose credits range from The Mystery of Edwin Drood to “The Pina Colada Song”…
…Margaret Whiting, the legendary pop songstress…
…and Rosie O’Donnell with partner Kelli Carpenter.
Here are lyricist David Zippel (left) and actor Kevin Spirtas (right) with Kathie Lee. If Spirtas doesn’t look familiar to you, that’s because he was the standby for Hugh Jackman in The Boy From Oz.
We leave you with a shot of the Under the Bridge leads and creative team. Pictured from left to right: Ed Dixon (who plays the hobo Armand), director Eric Schaeffer, Kathie Lee, David Pomeranz, Florence Lacey (the gypsy Mireli), and Jacquelyn Piro (Madame Calcet).
