Film Version of The Exonerated to Air on CourtTV

CourtTV will present the world premiere of The Exonerated, a film adaptation of the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway show based on the life stories of six wrongly accused death row inmates, on Thursday, January 27 at 9pm, with encore presentations scheduled for Saturday, January 29 at 4pm and Sunday, January 30 at 2pm.

The cast of the film includes Brian Dennehy, Danny Glover, Delroy Lindo, Aidan Quinn, Susan Sarandon, David Brown, Jr., and more than 40 other actors playing family members, prosecutors, judges, detectives, and defense attorneys involved with the six central characters.


The stage version of The Exonerated opened in October 2002 at The Culture Project and ran for 608 performances, closing in March 2004. During its run, the show’s rotating cast included such notables as Mary J. Blige, Eric Bogosian, Jill Clayburgh, Polly Draper, Fran Drescher, Richard Dreyfuss, Mia Farrow, Jeff Goldblum, Anthony Michael Hall, Mariska Hargitay, Anne Jackson, Sarah Jones, Alanis Morissette, Bebe Neuwirth, Amanda Plummer, Lynn Redgrave, Kathleen Turner, John Ventimiglia, Ben Vereen, Eli Wallach, and Debra Winger. In addition, some of the real-life people whose stories are told in the piece participated in various performances. Written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, the show was directed by Bob Balaban.
