Bryan Batt (Beauty and the Beast) will be hosting the sixth edition of Broadway Bears, an auction benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, on Monday, March 24.

The auction — which was originally scheduled for February 17, but postponed when a blizzard struck Manhattan — will feature 40 one-of-a-kind Broadway Bears, each dressed in original, handmade costumes based on famous theater characters and autographed by the stars they represent. This year’s bears will represent such shows and stars as The Producers (Gary Beach’s Roger DeBris), Hairspray (Harvey Fierstein’s Edna Turnblad), and The Lion King (John Vickery’s Scar).

VIP tickets — including a private reception beginning at 6pm, reserved priority seating, open bar, and an advance preview of all the bears to be auctioned — are available at $150. General admission tickets (unreserved seating and open bar) are $35. Doors will open at 7pm for general admission ticket holders and the auction will begin at 8pm.

The event will be held at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill on West 42nd Street. Reservations may be made by calling BC/EFA at 212-840-0770, ext. 268; live telephone bidding and pre-registered fixed bids are possible by calling 212-840-0770, ext. 228.
