Musical Salute to Richard Rodgers Will Benefit ALS Research

Sandy Duncan, Marvin Hamlisch, Lea Salonga, Cady Huffman, John Dossett, José Llana, James Naughton, Tony Roberts, Marni Nixon, Sheldon Harnick, Holly Cruikshank, Dana Reeve, Andrea Marcovicci, Dennis Parlato, and the cast of Forbidden Broadway will all be performing to raise funds for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) research in Sing For a Cure: A Valentine Cabaret Salute to Richard Rodgers, on Monday, February 10. Fittingly, the event — a benefit for the ZazAngels organization — will take place at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, located a 226 West 46th Street.

The proceedings will kick off at 6pm with a cocktail reception and a silent auction; the performance will begin at 7pm. Also scheduled to participate are Rebecca Budig, Don Correia, Jeff Correia, Kathryn Crosby, Eric Fennell, Tripp Hornick, Peter Jason, Nicolas King, Kathleen Landis, Robert Newman, Tamara Tunie, Phoebe Wadon, and Kim Zimmer. Honorary chairpersons for the event are Alec Baldwin, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Senator Bob Kerry, and Senator Charles Schumer.

ZazAngels was formed by Emmy-winning actor Michael Zaslow, who, after being diagnosed with ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), formed the non-profit organization in order to increase awareness of the disease and to raise money for research. Zaslow worked tirelessly on behalf of ALS sufferers until his death from the disease only a year after his diagnosis.
