Michael Gennaro to Join Paper Mill as President and CEO

After an extensive nationwide search, Paper Mill Playhouse — the State Theatre of New Jersey — has found its new president and CEO in Michael Gennaro.

Gennaro will be coming to Paper Mill directly from his position as executive director of Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company, in which capacity he has served for seven seasons. The current president of Paper Mill, Angelo del Rossi, has spent nearly 40 years at the theater; he will continue to serve as president and executive producer until July, at which point he will become president emeritus. Located in Millburn, NJ, Paper Mill produced the tour of I’m Not Rappaport, starring Judd Hirsch and Ben Vereen, that played on Broadway this past summer. The company has presented a number of high-profile productions in recent years, including Gypsy (starring Betty Buckley and Deborah Gibson) and Follies (starring Dee Hoty, Laurence Guittard, Donna McKechnie, Tony Roberts, Ann Miller, and Kaye Ballard).
