Listen To My Heart: The Songs of David Friedman, a 526-page book, has been released through Friedman’s own company, MIDDER Music.

The book features 63 songs, including “Listen to My Heart,” “We Live On Borrowed Time,” “We Can Be Kind,” “Help is on the Way,” “Your Love,” “Trust the Wind,” “My Simple Christmas Wish,” and “I’ll Be Here With You.” Many of these have been frequently performed by such artists as Laurie Beechman, Petula Clark, Kathie Lee Gifford, Barry Manilow, Diana Ross, and Leslie Uggams.

In addition to providing musical direction for the Broadway shows Sarava, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Beauty and the Beast, Friedman worked on such Disney films as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. His Christmas oratorio King Island Christmas, which he wrote with Deborah Brevoort, will be filmed for PBS Great Performances in October. Friedman is now working on a new stage musical, Nicolette & Aucassin, with Peter Kellogg. Listen To My Heart, a revue of Friedman’s songs, recently played in Dallas and will open Off-Broadway this fall.

Friedman wrote for the late Nancy LaMott and produced all of her albums. He is now collaborating with Kathie Lee Gifford for the fourth time; the project is a CD of songs they wrote together.

The Friedman song book is available through the MIDDER Music web site, www.MIDDERmusic.com, or in local sheet music stores including the Actor’s Circle, Colony Records, and Hollywood Sheet Music.
