Free Concert at World Financial Center on January 30 Kicks Off GRAMMY Fest 2003

To kick off GRAMMY Fest, a month-long New York City celebration leading up to the telecast of the 45th Annual GRAMMY Awards, the New York Chapter of the Recording Academy and the NYC GRAMMY Host Committee will present a free concert in the Winter Garden at the World Financial Center on Thursday, January 30, at 6:30pm.

Entitled “Songs of the City: A Celebration of New York In Song,” the concert will be hosted by Tom Wopat (42nd Street, Annie Get Your Gun) and will feature performances by a number of recording artists, including Shawn Colvin, Living Colour, Sugar Hill Gang, John Sebastian, Hugh Masakela, Chris Botti, Huey Dunbar, Julie Gold, Chuck Jackson, Amel Larrieux, Rhett Miller, the Young People’s Chorus of New York, and musical theater star Melissa Errico.

This year’s GRAMMY Awards ceremony will be broadcast live from Madison Square Garden on Sunday, February 23 at 8pm. For a complete list of GRAMMY Fest events, visit www.grammy.com.
