SOUTHERN REPERTORY THEATRE

Southern Rep is located on the third floor of the Shops at Canal Place, located two blocks from the river on the French Quarter side of Canal Street. Parking is available within the Canal Place parking lot and costs only $2 for Southern Rep patrons.

Southern Rep was founded in 1986 by Dr. Rosary Hartel O'Neill, a writer and director who is also a tenured professor at Loyola University. Recognizing a void in the cultural environment of New Orleans in the area of professional theatre, Dr. O'Neill organized Southern Rep with two objectives: one, to create a leading center for uniquely Southern dramatic art; and, two, to provide theatre education opportunities to the New Orleans community.
