WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Written by 30-year-old Shakespeare sometime between 1594 and 1596, the play remains to this day one of the most beautiful and tragic love stories ever penned and as wrenching a tale for old as it is for young. The play contains some of Shakespeare's most lyrical poetry, some of the most famous and often quoted phrases ever written, and its universal themes are as resonant now as ever.
