WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Although musicals based on biblical topics are not uncommon, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar was considered controversial when it first opened forty years ago. While audiences had no objection to a rock opera, they did object to having the last seven days of Jesus's life shown through the eyes of his betrayer, Judas. This new revisionist 2010 version will delve into controversial issues relating to today. It will have a post-apocalyptic vibe set in a tone of a long form rock/dance music video amidst modern-day taboos.

The show was too X-rated for me but the direction, choreography, and actors were great. Special accolades to Judas, Pilate and Caiphas - exceptional voices.
