WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents Hay Fever, back on the Main Stage for a 100th-anniversary celebration of Noel Coward's witty play. Directed by Gabriel Barre, Hay Fever involves a recently retired actress who invites a young admirer to her country home for the weekend, to help assuage her boredom. She's livid when she discovers that her husband, son, and daughter have--without consulting her--also invited weekend guests. The result is a maelstrom of stinging humor and outrageous behavior, as the self-absorbed and hilariously dysfunctional family members thrust their alarmed visitors into the midst of their edgy histrionics.
Additional performances Sundays, July 18 and 25 at 7:00 p.m. A special weekday matinee is offered on Wednesday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m.
