George Street Playhouse will present the new musical Curvy Widow May 2-21 under the direction of Peter Flynn.

With a book by Bobby Goldman and music and lyrics by Drew Brody, Curvy Widow is about the exploits of a fiftysomething widow whose adventures in the least expected places reveal unexpected truths about life, love, survival, and sex. This world premiere musical explores the hardships of what it means to start life over in the modern age. Marcos Santana serve as the choreographer.

Broadway favorite Nancy Opel (Honeymoon in Vegas) stars, reprising a role she created at North Carolina Stage Company in 2016. Further casting is still to be announced. The North Carolina company included Andrea Bianchi (Being Audrey), Laura Dean (The Who’s Tommy), Philip Hoffman (Into the Woods), MaryAnn Hu (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas), Christopher Shyer (Mamma Mia!), and Tom Treadwell (Annie).
