Karen Olivo to Star in Solo Concert at George Street Playhouse

Tony Award winner Karen Olivo will come to New Jersey's George Street Playhouse for a one-night-only benefit concert on the theater's mainstage on Thursday, April 2, at 7:30pm.
"I first met Karen when I was Associate Director for the most recent West Side Story revival, directed by my good friend Arthur Laurents," said David Saint the artistic director of George Street Playhouse. "Her talent, both as an actor and singer, just knocked me out. I am so grateful that she will be making one of her few stage appearances here in New Brunswick for the benefit of George Street Playhouse."
Olivo originated the role of Vanessa in the Tony Award-winning musical of In the Heights and won a Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance as Anita in West Side Story. On television, she has been seen on Harry's Law and The Good Wife. Her most recent stage appearance was in the 2014 Encores! Off-Center revival of Jonathan Larson's musical tick, tick… BOOM!
