It Shoulda Been You, the long-in-the-works Brian Hargrove-Barbara Anselmi musical that ran at the George Street Playhouse in 2011, will make its Broadway debut beginning March 17 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The production will offically open on April 14. Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce, husband to bookwriter/lyricist Hargrove, directs the musical, which explores what happens when an interfaith wedding spins out of control.

Leading the cast are Tony winners Tyne Daly and Harriet Harris who play the opposing in-laws. Daly is the bride's Jewish mother, with Harris as the Protestant mother of the groom. Their children will be played by Sierra Boggess and David Burtka, respectively. The cast also includes Lisa Howard, Edward Hibbert, and Steve Rosen. Additional casting will be announced in the coming months.

The creative team for It Shoulda Been You includes Anna Louizas (set design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), and Nevin Steinberg (sound design), with additional lyrics by Jill Abramovitz, Carla Rose Fisher, Michael Cooper, Ernie Lijoi, and Will Randall.

Daly and Boggess performed opposite each other in the 2011 Broadway revival of Master Class. Pierce, Hibbert, and Harris all appeared together on the long-running television comedy Frasier.

Daryl Roth, Scott Landis, Jane Bergère, Jayne Baron Sherman, and John O’Boyle serve as producers.
