Two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole (Grey Gardens) will star in Paper Mill Playhouse's upcoming production of Ever After, an anonymous source tells TheaterMania. The new musical, inspired by the 1998 film of the same title, is written by Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler.

Ebersole will take on the role of the evil baroness Rodmilla de Ghent in the production, which begins performances May 21 and runs through June 21. Tony winner Kathleen Marshall directs and choreographs the musical. Additional casting and information will be revealed in the coming months.

Ebersole won Tonys for her performances in Grey Gardens and 42nd Street. Her other major Broadway credits also include Blithe Spirit, Steel Magnolias, Dinner at Eight, Gore Vidal's The Best Man, On the Twentieth Century, and several others.

Ever After is a Renaissance-era version of Cinderella set in France. The 1998 film, directed by Andy Tennant from a screenplay by Tennant, Susannah Grant, and Rick Parks, starred Drew Barrymore as Danielle de Barbarac and Anjelica Huston as Rodmilla.
