Jane Alexander, Robert Cuccioli, Shirley Knight, Kathleen Marshall, et al. Set for George Street Playhouse Season

The George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, New Jersey has announced additional information on its upcoming season.

The season will begin with the world premiere of Arthur Laurents’, Come Back, Come Back, Wherever You Are. which focuses on a woman coping with a devastating loss, her overbearing mother-in-law, and the advances of a sexually persistent new suitor October 6-November 1). The cast will feature Shirley Knight, Alison Fraser, Jim Bracchtita, Leslie Lyles, and John Carter.

Tony Award winner Jane Alexander, Robert Cuccioli, and Gareth Saxe will star in Thom Thomas’ A Moon to Dance By (November 17-December 13), to be directed by Ed Sherin. The piece centers on Frieda Weekley, the often-scandalous widow of D.H. Lawrence and inspiration for his most controversial works including Lady Chatterly’s Lover and Women in Love.

Up next, Tony winner Kathleen Marshall will direct Barry Wyner’s musical Calvin Berger (February 9-March 14), a modern-day retelling of the Cyrano de Bergerac story. It will be followed by A Fox on the Fairway (March 30-April 25), a new comedy from Ken Ludwig about the rivalry between two country clubs, which will be directed by Tony winner John Rando.

The fifth entry in the George Street Playhouse’s 2009-2010 season, as well as complete casting for all shows, will be be announced at a later date.
