Andrew Case’s The Rant Has World Premiere at NJ Rep

Andrew Case’s The Rant will get its National New Play Network world premiere production at the New Jersey Repertory Company. The production, directed by Jesse Ontiveros, will run August 20 – September 20.

The Rant focuses on a detective who’s assigned to investigate a domestic dispute in which a boy died. In the play, a sort of modern-day Rashomon, everybody’s account of the event differs, and the investigator assigned to the case must confront prejudice, deceit, indifference, intimidation and threats, as she attempts to figure out what really happened.

Playwright Case spent seven years working as an investigator for the Civilian Complaint Review Board in New York City and his experiences there have contributed to the creation of The Rant.
