Tyne Daly, Jennifer Hudson, Bill T. Jones, Debbie Reynolds, et al. Part of 2010-2011 NJPAC Season

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) has announced the lineup of events that will comprise its 2010-2011 season.

The season will open with a week-long series of special events, September 24-October 2, that will include a performance by comedian Arj Barker and conclude with the center’s annual Spotlight Gala, starring Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson.

Theatrical fare at the center will include the previously announced Broadway season, which will feature South Pacific and Monty Python’s Spamalot, among others.

Additionally, the center will present performances of Celebrity Autobiography (October 30), an appearance by The Reduced Shakespeare Company (February 11-13), Nilaja Sun’s No Child… (February 19), Mark Twain Tonight!, starring Hal Holbrook (May 20), and Charles Ross’ One Man Star Wars Trilogy (June 11),

The center’s cabaret programming will include appearances by Liz Callaway (November 6), Marilyn Maye (December 4), Maude Maggart (February 12), Tyne Daly (March 19), and Debbie Reynolds (May 22).

Music and dance programming at the NJPAC will include work by choreographer Bill T. Jones (December 3); a performance of Handel’s Messiah Rocks! (December 19); a performance of Savion Glover’s Solo in Time (March 4); and screenings of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (June 17-19) accompanied by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra playing Howard Shore’s score.
