Tony nominee Barbara Walsh will replace the previously announced Sandy Duncan in the world premiere of Joe DiPietro's Creating Claire, at George Street Playhouse. David Saint will direct the production, which will now begin on May 18 (as opposed to the previously announced May 11), with an opening on May 21. According to a press statement, Duncan has withdrawn from the production due to "a significant illness."

The play focuses on a docent at a natural history museum (Walsh) who finds herself embroiled in controversy when her tour guide patter deviates from the strict scientific beliefs of her supervisor. As previously reported, the cast will also include Lynn Cohen, Michael Countryman, and Celia Keenan-Bolger

Walsh received a Tony nomination and Drama Desk Award for Falsettos, and her other Main Stem credits include Company, Blood Brothers, and Big. She previously appeared at the George Street Playhouse in The Sisters Rosensweig
